Insurance & Protection

Comprehensive Risk Management for The Life You’ve Built, the Family You Protect, or The Business You Run.

Protection planning is not about insurance products. It’s about identifying what the risks are that could derail your financial plan or your business and having the right protection in place to take the hits.

That’s the conversation we have. For individuals and families, that could mean replacing income that dependents rely on, protecting retirement savings from long-term care costs, or providing estate liquidity that can help preserve assets across generations. For business owners, it might mean insuring a key executive, funding a buy-sell agreement, or building a succession plan that holds up if a partner is suddenly lost.

Many of our clients need a combination. The right combination is entirely dependent on the plan it serves.

Our advice is independent and not tied to any single insurance carrier. We have no loyalty to any one company, and we do not work to sales quotas. We coordinate each recommendation with your financial planning, business planning, and estate planning so that the protection in place works in concert with everything else.

Coverage We Coordinate

Personal Life Insurance

For most individuals and their families, life insurance is a way to replace income, the years of earnings a family would lose if a primary earner died suddenly. The right policy can provide a tax-advantaged death benefit that can support a spouse, fund education, help pay off debt, or provide for those you leave behind.

The type of coverage you need will depend on what you need to achieve. Term insurance provides simple protection during your most-need years. Permanent life insurance provides lifelong coverage and the ability to accumulate cash value. And hybrid policies are a combination of life insurance and long-term care benefits, one product that covers you against premature death and can provide funds for extended care if necessary during your lifetime.

We help you find the right type of policy for your plan, the right amount of coverage, and the right way to structure it.

Disability Insurance

Your ability to earn an income is often your most valuable financial asset and the most overlooked. Disability insurance replaces a portion of your income if illness or injury prevents you from working. For high-earning professionals, business owners, and key executives, this protection is often essential. We review what your employer provides, identify gaps, and help you put the right protection in place.

Long-Term Care Insurance

Extended medical and custodial care is one of the largest unfunded risks in retirement. The cost of in-home care, assisted living, or skilled nursing can have a meaningful impact on retirement savings, particularly when the need arises at a stage of life when there is less time to rebuild assets.

Long-term care planning helps protect against that risk. There are a variety of ways to cover it: traditional long-term care insurance, hybrid policies that combine life insurance with a long-term care rider, or self-insuring some of the risk through dedicated savings. The right approach depends on your age, health, retirement assets, family history, and personal preferences. We help you weigh those factors, evaluate available options, and decide whether long-term care coverage belongs in your plan and if so, in what form.

Key Man and Business Insurance

The unexpected death of a founder, partner, or key executive can be financially devastating to a closely held business. Key man insurance can provide the company with capital to help absorb the shock, potentially hire a replacement, and continue to operate. Business insurance can also offer buy-sell agreements between partners for a smooth transition if a partner dies or is disabled. These strategies are aligned with the overall business succession plan.

Estate Liquidity

For families with estates exceeding federal or state exemption limits or with illiquid assets such as a business or real estate concentrated in their estates, life insurance can provide the cash needed to pay estate taxes and expenses without forcing a sale. The right policy, often held in an irrevocable life insurance trust (ILIT), can help preserve generational wealth and equalize inheritances among heirs. We coordinate with your estate planning attorney to ensure the structure works as intended.
